Of my entire 800+ collection, the Weymann Model A Solid Body Electric is probably my new favorite guitar, of all time. Big Statement, right? The design of this guitar is so sexy & sleek, it takes me back to a different time period. Like, a past life love. Honestly, there is simply, nothing like it on the market. Not even a close second. The Weymann Model A, stands on a stage of its own.
Living close to the top museums in the USA (I'm just outside of DC) - I've seen violins & instruments dating back to the late 1700's and have inspected their construction. I must say, the Weymann Model A is the only instrument made today, that displays this level of old world craftsmanship. It is really next level. The guitar is 22 fret and has a familiar 25.5" scale (similar to Telo's) so it's completely manageable for a person of my size. Tonally, think of desert wine. Full & rich, deep with excellent vibrance. And about this neck.. my goodness. It is super & I mean super..... chunky.
The question remains.. How is it this easy to play? Many of these design elements in the Model A have prompted me to re-evaluate the design of "modern" guitars. Its flat radius finger board plays excellent, contrary to what I've come to understand with fretboard radius history. The giant fat neck, is actually easier to play than my Jem neck. How is this possible? One pickup, between the bridge & middle position.. how is Weymann the only one to have nailed this?! Grand slam, Weymann. Grand slam.
I was able to review this instrument on a temporary loan basis from the company & so greatly appreciate their grace. I am hopeful to make this stunning guitar, a full-time member to my Guitar Mom roster :)
